Pure magic for Pure Alchemy

Pure Alchemy is the Sutherland Shire practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor Anissa Au. Whilst her practice deals with a broad variety of patients, ailments and conditions, her focus is on women’s health issues, including fertility, obstetrics, gynaecology and menopause.

Anissa approached Tasty Pixels Web Design Byron Bay as she was dissatisfied with the Search Engine ranking performance of her her previous site – which was on “page nowhere” – and was hoping to rebrand and refocus her internet presence so that she could connect with her potential patients in the broader locality.

From tragic to magic!

We began by clearly identifying and defining Anissa’s target market: women aged from 25 to 55 years of age who may be attracted to an alternative means of dealing with their health issues but still expect a professional, clinical approach to their treatment of the type which regular allopathic, or western, medicine presents.

We helped Anissa to come up with a new name, “Pure Alchemy”, which uses the language of that part of the community which better connects with alternative everything, but which we all recognise and would like to think we can be part of from time to time too. We redeveloped her existing logo in a fashion which added a more regular clinical style of logotype, whilst retaining the “yin-yang” fish element and then we crafted a WordPress template for her which spoke clearly to her market in every way . . .

Getting the mix of appeals just right

The site contains elements of relaxed comfort in the use of colour as well as the typography styling and “crooked” banner/heading and text box borders. However, we didn’t drop the ball when it comes to reassuring visitors that they’re dealing with a professional clinician: we created a layout with many precision elements which reinforce “professional clinic” everywhere you look. In this way, the site reflects the needs of visitors who want to know that they will be treated by a professional who has a warm and humane approach to what are very personal issues in a patient’s life.

The typography uses magazine style textboxes and pull quotes along with a heading style which also reflects magazine typography and style – a tried, trusted and proven formula both on and off the web!

Google loves this site!

At every step of the development of this site, we built in “Google Friendliness”

At every step of the development of this site, Tasty Pixels built in “Google Friendliness” and, with the use of the Yoast WordPress SEO plugin, cleverly worded and structured the site content to achieve optimal Search Engine performance. It is two weeks since we built this site and it is now ranking on page one of Google for its primary keywords, like “sutherland shire fertility acupuncture”.

From the fixed/non-scrolling menu to the beautifully structured footer, this site is full of our best ideas and reflects the kind of work that we can create for clients who are seeking a complete package from the ground up.
